Coast to Coast AM is broadcast on 590 am every night at midnight. Art Bell created the show, and hosts on Saturday and Sunday nights. The rest of the week is hosted by George Noory. George has grown on me a lot, but I look forward to Art's shows.

The show covers a variety of subjects, it's talk radio after all, but the overriding themes of the show are the supernatural and paranormal (with news and discussion about astronomy and global warming being common, too). Bigfoot, alien abductions, near-death experiences, UFO sightings, the Loch Ness Monster and ghosts come up a lot. You can read more about the show on its Wikipedia page. The show's website is here.

This is one of the few talk radio shows I've heard that is not confrontational or argumentative. Indeed, a caller, no matter how unlikely their story about their alien encounter, or shaky their recollection of the ghost they saw once as a child, is more likely to get encouragement and curiosity from the hosts. Everybody gets the benefit of the doubt, and almost any experience is validated. Guests are rarely interrupted. It's got to be the only show on the AM band without any yelling or name calling.

The website has a section of pictures listeners have sent in. There are four I would like to share. The first three do not mention, or I did not see in my skimming, dates or very precise locations (they omit states, for some reasons).

This first one was taken in a cemetery in Will County. It seems to show the ghost of a young child. It disappeared shortly after this picture was taken. The photographer is a member of the local ghost hunting organization.



This next one is from the summer of 2004. It was intended to be a family picture, but as you can see something else lives in the house and was also photographed.





This picture was taken on something called Silver Star Mountain, no date with this one. It was cold and windy, and the photographer lost track of the creature in the picture.



For some reason, there are a lot of picture submissions from Texas. This one is even from Austin. There is no date, but it was taken at night at Lake Travis. The first picture is the original, the second is a "lightened" version that more clearly shows a mysterious figure.
