Since I am now 33, and basically unemployed, and also a little tense about that unemployment situation, I have decided to take on a casual research project (in addition to my full-time job research project).
This year I will research and write about the noteworthy accomplishments of other 33-year old people, particularly those whose accomplishments as 33-year olds have some sort of personal meaning or sentimental value for me. So far, my list consists of Bruce Willis (who starred in Die Hard when he was 33) and David Foster Wallace (who wrote his famous essay "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again" at the age of 33). I also know some people in their mid-60s who live in Minnesota and had kids at this age, but that might make me too self conscious to write about. If anyone can suggest other topics in this category, please do so.
Also, it's come to my attention that my methodology in carrying out The Netflix Survey was flawed. This has resulted in conclusions that are slightly skewed. Within a couple weeks, I will undertake a more comprehensive review of the tastes of my Netflix Friends (using the first edition of the survey as a guide).
If anyone reading this is a Netflix Friend of mine and has updates for their ratings of any relevant movies or TV shows, it would bolster the survey's accuracy if you made your updates in the next week or so.

Jesus was murdered when he was 33!
I just want to say that I loved 33. I wrote a poem on my birthday that year and it wasn't terrible either.
I love odd numbers, but there was something cool about being 33, and now that I've been 33, I still feel good about it all.
